Innovative Safety Features
Fast Deployment: Lock any classroom door in seconds during emergencies.
Discreet and Quiet Operation: Secure doors without drawing attention.
Universal Accessibility: Intuitive one-motion unlocking for all users, including those in wheelchairs.
First Responder Access: Open doors quickly from the outside without special tools or keys.
-
The door is lockable from inside the classroom without requiring the door to be opened. This prevents the risk of exposure to an intruder.
-
Egress from the classroom is accomplished without using a key, a tool, special knowledge, or effort. No need to worry about lost keys or special tools, and extensive training is not required.
-
Exiting the classroom is accomplished with one motion by pulling the red cable, which unlocks the bolt from the latch.
-
The classroom door is unlockable from outside the classroom.
-
Door operating hardware is operable without tight grasping or twisting of the wrist. This enables people with weak hands to open the door.
-
The locking parts inside the classroom are mounted between 34 and 48 inches above the floor. This allows people of short stature or in wheelchairs to operate the lock.
-
The bottom 10 inches of the "push" side of the door surface are smooth. This prevents wheelchairs from getting caught and blocking the egress path.
-
The hole drilled through the door to install the locking cable path does not exceed 3/4".
-
Locking the door is quiet to minimize noise and help prevent drawing attention from an intruder.
-
The screws used to attach the bolt receiving latch mounted to the door frame are 2-½” in length to penetrate studs to reinforce the strength of the lock.
-
The lock is functional without electricity, batteries, keys, or unique tools and cannot be operated remotely.
-
Nothing is mounted, attached, or drilled into the floor that may cause a person to trip or a wheelchair to become stuck in the doorway.

I came across Rocket Security Devices while researching school safety solutions on YouTube. When I saw Rocket Security featured on a school safety blog, it immediately grabbed my attention. As a grandparent, I’m deeply concerned about the world our children are growing up in. I’m grateful there are companies taking real steps to protect kids in the classroom.
